Maharashtra SIR Shows Urban-Rural Divide In Uncollectible Forms

Maharashtra is checking its voter lists through a process called the Special Intensive Revision.

Officials tried to collect and digitise forms from voters across the state.

Some forms could not be collected or entered into the system.

Urban areas in Mumbai, Thane and Pune had some of the highest rates of uncollectible forms.

Bhiwandi East had the highest percentage, at 49.10%.

Nalasopara had the largest number of uncollectible forms.

Rural and tribal constituencies generally had lower rates.

Akole had the lowest rate, with 93.89% of its forms digitised.

Statewide uncollectible rate: 21.15% of forms in Maharashtra were reported as uncollectible.
Total electors: Maharashtra has 9,78,54,049 electors across 288 Assembly constituencies.
Highest rate: Bhiwandi East recorded the highest uncollectible rate at 49.10%.
Highest number: Nalasopara recorded 3,06,930 uncollectible forms, equal to 46.36% of its forms.
Lowest rate: Akole (ST) recorded the lowest uncollectible rate at 6.11%, with 93.89% of forms digitised.
Other high-rate constituencies: Colaba recorded 46.97%, Khadakwasala 46.57% and Kothrud 46.22%.
State average electorate: The average electorate per constituency was 3,39,771.
