Pune SIR Verification Ends With 68.34% Forms Digitised, 31.65% Uncollectable

Pune is checking its official list of people who are allowed to vote in elections.

Workers went door-to-door with forms to make sure the list is correct.

Out of about 90 lakh forms, more than 68 out of every 100 were collected and put into computers.

Almost one in three forms, however, could not be collected.

People whose forms were not collected may have their names removed from the voters' list.

The election office has put up special lists showing names marked as absent, shifted, dead or duplicate.

If your name is on that list, you can fill out Form 6 to ask to be put back on the list.

Some areas, like Baramati, finished more than 88% of their work.

Big city areas like Khadakwasala and Kothrud finished only about half of their work.

The final voters' list will be printed at the end of October after everyone has had a chance to fix problems.
