India-Israel partnership evolves into wider regional strategic network

India and Israel are two countries that have been good partners, especially in defence.

Usually, India buys advanced weapons and technology from Israel.

A new report says their friendship is growing into a bigger team that includes the United Arab Emirates, Greece, and Cyprus.

A leader from Israel's defence ministry, Amir Baram, visited India in June 2026 and met India's defence minister, Rajnath Singh.

They talked about making things together, sharing technology, and working as partners instead of just buying and selling.

Baram suggested a new security club that would stretch from India, through the UAE, all the way to Greece and Cyprus.

This club would help keep important sea routes safe and make all the countries stronger.

Each country would bring something helpful—Israel has smart defence technology, India has a big navy, the UAE has money, Greece has a NATO base, and Cyprus sits at a critical shipping crossroads.

The plan would work alongside Israel's friendship with the United States, not replace it.

Whether it becomes an official group or stays a flexible friendship will depend on the countries' choices.
