Independence Day celebrated with patriotic fervour across three Andhra districts
India celebrates a special holiday called Independence Day, when people show pride in their country.
This Saturday, communities across three districts of the Indian state Andhra Pradesh - Tirupati, Chittoor and Annamayya - came together to celebrate.
Government ministers raised the Indian flag at special ceremonies in each district.
There were parades by police officers, colorful decorated floats called tableaux, cultural dance and music performances, and even a police dog show.
The ministers gave awards to many hardworking government employees.
They also talked about welfare programs that help people.
These programs give monthly pension money to elderly people, money to mothers, and financial help to farmers.
In Tirupati, the minister said 2.62 lakh people received pension payments totaling Rs 3,165 crore since April 2024.
The celebrations showed how proud the people are of their country's freedom.
Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour across Tirupati, Chittoor and Annamayya districts on Saturday, with ministers leading official ceremonies.
At Tirupati, Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy hoisted the Tricolour at Police Parade Grounds and felicitated freedom fighter R Radhakrishna Raju and 165 employees.
Ramanarayana Reddy said Rs 3,165 crore had been distributed as NTR Bharosa pensions to 2.62 lakh beneficiaries since April 2024, and 112 industries invested Rs 30,846 crore creating 71,475 jobs in the district.
In Chittoor, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav hoisted the national flag and highlighted projects including Sanjeevani–Tata Digital Nerve Centre (DINC), the Chittoor–Thatchur six-lane greenfield corridor and Swarna Kuppam Vision 2029.
In Madanapalle, Annamayya district, Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy unfurled the flag, noting 1.64 lakh farmers received Rs 110.77 crore under Annadata Sukhibhava-PM Kisan and the Swarna Andhra 2047 vision.
