Modi Urges Big Dreams to Make India Developed by 2047
India celebrated its 80th Independence Day, the day the country remembers becoming free.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, gave a big speech from the Red Fort in New Delhi.
He told everyone that India has a huge dream: to become a developed country by the year 2047.
That will be 100 years since India became independent.
He said people should dream big and not settle for small dreams.
A special national song called 'Vande Mataram' was played at the Red Fort for the first time since independence, and it is 150 years old.
Mr. Modi also said India's factories now make a lot more things, like defence equipment and electronics.
He talked about floods that have hurt families in some parts of the country.
He promised that the whole nation stands with people affected by the floods.
To mark the day, the national flag was raised along with a 21-gun salute.
