Modi lays out seven 'streams of power' for India's future
On India's Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a big speech from the Red Fort.
He told the country about a new plan called 'Saptadhara', which means seven streams of power.
He said these seven powers will help India grow and become a developed nation.
The first stream is making goods in factories with low cost, excellent quality and large scale.
The second is helping farmers sell their food, millets, spices and fruits to the whole world.
The third is technology and new ideas, like robots, data centres and new 6G internet.
The fourth is building fast trains, roads, ports and airports so everything can move quickly.
The fifth is making India's own defence equipment, including drones, so it does not depend on other countries.
The sixth is clean energy, like green hydrogen and renewable power, plus taking care of the oceans.
The seventh is soft power — things like yoga, films and handicrafts that make people around the world admire India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the 'Saptadhara' vision of seven 'streams of power' (saat shaktiyaan) in his Independence Day address from the Red Fort.
The seven streams are manufacturing, agriculture and food processing, technology and innovation, Gati Shakti (connectivity), Raksha-Shakti (defence), green and blue economy, and soft power.
Modi said Indian manufacturing must rise to global standards of cost, quality and scale, making India a trusted global supply chain partner with no compromise on quality.
He called for self-reliance in defence, including drones, counter-drone and hypersonic technologies, and for India to become a global supplier of next-generation defence technologies.
On the green and blue economy, Modi said India must achieve global leadership in green hydrogen, renewable energy and energy storage, while the Blue Economy opens new pathways for growth.
