Manoj Kumar Dwivedi takes charge as NDMC chairperson

Manoj Kumar Dwivedi is a very senior government officer called an IAS officer.

On Friday, he got a new job.

He is now the chairperson of the New Delhi Municipal Council, which looks after civic services in part of India's capital city.

His job is to make sure services for citizens work well.

Before this, he worked at the Department of Personnel and Training.

He has worked in government for nearly thirty years.

He has worked in many places, including Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

He studied chemical engineering at IIT Delhi, a famous university.

He wants departments to work together better and to focus on citizens.

The person who had his job before, Keshav Chandra, has moved to a new role at the Ministry of Coal.
