NDMC Launches Signature Campaign for Waste Segregation and Zero-Waste Culture
The New Delhi Municipal Council is starting a cleanliness campaign next week.
It will visit at least 10 colonies in New Delhi.
Residents will be asked to sign a pledge for a cleaner, zero-waste city.
They will also be encouraged to separate different kinds of waste at home.
These types include wet, dry, sanitary and domestic hazardous waste.
People will be encouraged to compost wet waste.
Another campaign asks people in markets to use dustbins and avoid littering.
Workers called Palika Sahayaks speak with residents and visitors about cleanliness.
NDMC also says many public toilets need improvement, and fixing them will take time.
The New Delhi Municipal Council will launch a signature campaign in at least 10 colonies next week.
The campaign will be conducted with resident welfare associations to promote compliance with the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026.
Residents will be urged to separate wet, dry, sanitary and domestic hazardous waste at the source.
The council is also running the “Roko Toko, Swachhata Ko Badhao” campaign to discourage littering in markets.
NDMC Chairman Manoj Kumar Dwivedi said public and community toilets need substantial improvement, which will take time.
