Nabard-Backed Agri-Fintech Onboards 300,000 Kisan Credit Card Applications
Farmers often had to visit banks many times to get loans for their farms.
A new online system is designed to make this process easier.
The system helps banks check a farmer’s identity, land records and crops.
It can then help calculate how much money the farmer may be eligible to borrow.
More than 300,000 Kisan Credit Card applications have been onboarded since December 2025.
The system is being used by many cooperative banks and agricultural societies.
Kisan Credit Cards help farmers pay for seeds, fertilisers and pesticides.
Eligible farmers can receive short-term loans at reduced interest rates, especially if they repay on time.
The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development and 24X7 Moneyworks Consulting have onboarded more than 300,000 Kisan Credit Card applications since December 2025.
The eKCC portal operates across nearly 238 cooperative banks and about 32,000 primary agricultural credit societies.
About 170,000 applications have been electronically onboarded through the cooperative-bank network.
The portal uses Aadhaar authentication, land-record validation and crop details to assess farmers’ agricultural-loan limits.
Kisan Credit Card holders can receive short-term loans of up to Rs 3 lakh at 7% interest, with prompt repayment lowering the effective rate to 4%.
