Telangana to Photograph 1.93 Crore Farm Fields Digitally
Telangana is making a digital record of farms and the crops grown on them.
Workers will take photographs of about 1.93 crore farm fields.
The work will cover every revenue village in the state.
About 10,000 volunteers will help agriculture officers complete the large survey.
They will use a phone app that can work without an internet signal.
The app will send the information later when a signal becomes available.
Farmers will get messages showing their land and crop details.
They can ask for corrections if something is wrong, and crop procurement will be linked to registering this information.
Telangana’s digital crop registration will cover all 10,622 revenue villages and 1,93,25,309 farm fields.
The survey is part of the Government of India’s Agri Stack digital farmland and crop information infrastructure.
Around 10,000 volunteers will photograph fields using an app that works offline and syncs data later.
Volunteers will receive ₹7 per farm photograph, while agriculture extension officers will cross-check the collected data.
Farmers will receive their registered land and crop details by phone and can request corrections; procurement will be linked to crop registration.
