India Urges Faster Farmer IDs and Digital Agriculture Rollout
Fast-track farmer IDs rollout, says Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan · thehansindia.com

The government is making digital identification cards for farmers.

These IDs help send payments directly to farmers’ bank accounts.

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asked states to finish this work quickly.

He also asked states to fully implement programs focused on digital farming and pulses.

So far, 10.41 crore farmer IDs have been created in 26 states and Union Territories.

The IDs include most people receiving PM-KISAN benefits.

The minister said government programs should help farmers in real life, not just look successful in reports.

He also said land maps and farm information must be checked carefully.
