Mahila Congress kite campaign highlights women's safety concerns in Rajamahendravaram

In the city of Rajamahendravaram, women and girl students gathered to celebrate India's Independence Day in a special way.

They flew kites that had pictures and messages drawn on them.

The messages talked about things that matter to women, like freedom, rights, safety, and problems they face.

The event was called the Maa Tujhe Salaam Udaan Abhiyan and was organised by the All India Mahila Congress.

One kite showed a sad event — a woman doctor named Dr Priyanka who was hurt in a hit-and-run accident.

That kite made people think about how important it is to keep women safe.

A leader named Amar Jaha Beg said the event gives a platform to share women's concerns with society.

Some participants will be chosen to go to the Independence Day programme in Delhi on August 15.

The best kites will win prizes, with the first prize of Rs 1 lakh.
