In the Indian state of Odisha, people are getting ready to celebrate Independence Day, the day India became a free country.

The state's leader, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is starting a special campaign called 'Har Ghar Tiranga'.

'Har Ghar Tiranga' means 'the Indian flag in every home.'

From August 9 to 17, the campaign encourages everyone to put the national flag in their homes.

Women working in Self-Help Groups are making 60 lakh flags, which is six million flags, and more than 45 lakh are already finished.

There will also be a big flag rally where officials, students and volunteers walk together through Bhubaneswar.

On August 14, a day called Partition Horrors Remembrance Day will be marked with a photo exhibition, short films and a quiet candle march.

This day remembers the difficult time when India was divided into two countries many years ago.

On August 15, the state will hold its official Independence Day celebration with a patriotic musical programme called 'Bharatiyam'.

The campaign helps every person in Odisha feel proud of their country and its flag.
