Delhi to develop Yamuna bank on Sabarmati Riverfront lines

The Delhi government wants to make the area next to the Yamuna River clean and beautiful.

They are looking at a riverfront in Gujarat called the Sabarmati Riverfront as an example.

The Sabarmati Riverfront had problems 25 to 30 years ago that are similar to what Delhi faces now.

The government plans to build big parks, cycle tracks, and sports grounds along the river.

They also want to build a special ghat for the Chhath festival in Kalindi Kunj.

That ghat will cost about 60 crore rupees.

The government is working to reduce sewage and dairy waste going into the river.

They may also replace old dhobi ghats with mechanised laundry machines, like Gujarat did.

The minister says the Yamuna will regain its glory and Delhi will get the riverfront it deserves.
