Delhi to Replicate Sabarmati Model for Yamuna Riverfront Cleanup

A leader from Delhi named Parvesh Verma went to a city called Ahmedabad to see a beautiful riverfront there.

The river in Ahmedabad, called the Sabarmati, used to be dirty, but people cleaned it up and made it nice.

Now Delhi wants to do the same thing for its river, the Yamuna.

The government says some people who were in charge of cleaning the Yamuna before did not do a good job with the money.

They will file police reports against those people.

They also want to build a big special place for Chhath Puja prayers near the river.

They will build new sewage treatment plants so dirty water doesn't go into the river.

They will also help people who wash clothes by giving them modern places to work.

The leader says the Prime Minister supports this plan.

The goal is to make the Yamuna riverfront clean and beautiful like the Sabarmati.
