Delhi Approves New Expressway Over Najafgarh Drain
The Delhi government has approved a big plan to build a new expressway over the Najafgarh drain.
This expressway will be 57 kilometres long and will have two lanes on both sides.
The project costs Rs 453.95 crore and aims to help millions of people who travel to and from West and South-West Delhi.
It will make travel faster and easier.
The plan also includes cleaning the drain to prevent flooding during the monsoon season.
Additionally, there are plans to improve other drains in East Delhi, like the Shahdara Link Drain and the Kailash Nagar drain.

The Delhi Flood Control Board approved a Rs 453.95 crore project to build a 57-kilometre, two-lane service road on both sides of the Najafgarh drain.

The project includes a major desilting operation to remove 9.1 million cubic metres of silt from the Najafgarh drain to improve drainage and reduce flooding.
Additional projects in East Delhi include constructing an elevated road along Trunk Drain Number-1 and beautifying the Shahdara Link Drain.
