Kerala intensifies food safety checks ahead of Onam
Before a big festival called Onam, the government of Kerala wants to make sure the food people eat is safe.
They sent special teams to check restaurants, hotels, and places that make food.
These teams visited more than five thousand places.
When they found problems, they sent warnings to some places and suggested fines for others.
They also took samples of food to test in laboratories.
They are checking things like labels, expiry dates, and how food is stored.
They are paying extra attention to special Onam foods like pappad, jaggery, coconut oil, and ghee.
They also held classes to teach food sellers how to keep food safe and clean.
This helps everyone enjoy the festival with safe and tasty food.
