Andhra Pradesh Begins Rollout of Smart LED Streetlights
Andhra Pradesh is replacing old streetlights with smarter LED lights.
The new lights can be monitored using computers and a central dashboard.
The first phase will cover 7.5 lakh lights.
The work is planned to finish by March 2027.
Officials expect the project to save a lot of electricity each year.
It should also reduce pollution and the costs of electricity and maintenance.

Andhra Pradesh plans to replace 10.5 lakh conventional streetlights across its urban local bodies.
Energy Efficiency Services Limited will install 7.5 lakh smart LED lights in the first phase by March 2027.
The project is expected to save 19.57 million units of electricity annually and reduce emissions and costs.
Agreements have been completed with more than 120 urban local bodies, while field surveys continue.
Visakhapatnam stretches are being upgraded ahead of the CII Partnership Summit scheduled for November 2026.
