Andhra Pradesh is replacing old streetlights with smarter LED lights.

The new lights can be monitored using computers and a central dashboard.

The first phase will cover 7.5 lakh lights.

The work is planned to finish by March 2027.

Officials expect the project to save a lot of electricity each year.

It should also reduce pollution and the costs of electricity and maintenance.

More than 120 urban local bodies have completed agreements for the work.

Some roads in Visakhapatnam are being upgraded before a major business summit in November 2026.
