EESL’s Smart LED Lighting in Andhra Pradesh Gains Recognition · thehansindia.com

Andhra Pradesh is replacing many old streetlights with smarter LED lights.

The project is being carried out with Energy Efficiency Services Limited, or EESL.

These lights can be monitored from a central computer system.

The system can show where each light is and send alerts when there is a problem.

Officials say the project could save 19.57 million units of electricity every year.

It may also reduce pollution, electricity bills and repair costs.

More than 120 urban local bodies have completed agreements for the project.

Work in Visakhapatnam is being given priority before the CII Global Summit.

EESL plans to install 7.5 lakh smart lights by March 2027.
