Chhattisgarh celebrates 80th I-Day; CM hails Naxal-free Bastar progress
Chhattisgarh celebrated 80 years of India's Independence Day in the city of Raipur.
The Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, raised the flag and watched a parade of soldiers and police.
He said the fight against a dangerous group called Naxals has become very successful.
Places like Bastar that were once full of fear are now peaceful and developing.
The government has brought many new programs to help people in these areas.
More than 39 lakh people have received benefits from things like new schools and health services.

Many new houses and toilets for school girls are also being built.

Chhattisgarh celebrated the 80th Independence Day in Raipur, where Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai unfurled the National Flag at the Police Parade Ground and took the salute of the march-past.
CM Sai credited the firm resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the historic success against Naxalism, saying Maoist-affected Bastar now celebrates freedom through Tiranga Yatras.
Through 'Niyad Nella Naar 2.0' and the 'Bastar Munne Abhiyan', 31 schemes and 14 community facilities have reached more than 39 lakh people, and health profiles of over 34 lakh people have been prepared under 'Mukhyamantri Swasth Bastar Abhiyan'.
A ₹4,824 crore livelihood upgradation scheme aims to raise incomes of nearly 10 lakh families, and irrigation projects worth over ₹11,000 crore have been approved, including the Sikas-Kodar canal linking project.
CM Sai announced a ₹500 crore State AI Mission and the 'Meri Beti-Mera Abhiman' campaign to build toilets for girls in 6,671 government schools.
