On Independence Day, the leader of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai, gave a speech in the city of Raipur.

He talked about a long-running problem called Naxalism, a form of Maoist rebellion.

He said Naxalism has ended, but it can only be truly wiped out if the Maoist way of thinking is completely removed.

He said people in the Bastar region, which used to be full of violence and fear, are now celebrating independence with peace and trust.

Schools that were closed during the Maoist era have reopened, and 36 new schools are planned.

His government also approved a big project called the Chhattisgarh State AI Mission, worth Rs 500 crore.

The project will train six lakh students and 1.5 lakh government employees in Artificial Intelligence.

He also said Chhattisgarh has attracted investments of Rs 8.23 lakh crore that could create around 1.74 lakh jobs.

He called the hosting of the Central Zonal Council meeting in Jagdalpur a symbol of Bastar's changing identity.
