Chhattisgarh CM: Naxalism Ends Only When Maoist Ideology Is Eliminated
On Independence Day, the leader of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh, Vishnu Deo Sai, gave a speech in the city of Raipur.
He talked about a long-running problem called Naxalism, a form of Maoist rebellion.
He said Naxalism has ended, but it can only be truly wiped out if the Maoist way of thinking is completely removed.
He said people in the Bastar region, which used to be full of violence and fear, are now celebrating independence with peace and trust.
Schools that were closed during the Maoist era have reopened, and 36 new schools are planned.
His government also approved a big project called the Chhattisgarh State AI Mission, worth Rs 500 crore.
The project will train six lakh students and 1.5 lakh government employees in Artificial Intelligence.
He also said Chhattisgarh has attracted investments of Rs 8.23 lakh crore that could create around 1.74 lakh jobs.
He called the hosting of the Central Zonal Council meeting in Jagdalpur a symbol of Bastar's changing identity.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said Naxalism will be completely eradicated only when Maoist ideology is eliminated.
Sai quoted PM Narendra Modi's Independence Day address, saying it is now time to deal strongly with the 'Naxali mindset'.
Sai highlighted Bastar's transformation, saying Maoism-free Bastar now celebrates independence through Tiranga Yatras with peace, trust and development.
The government approved the Rs 500 crore Chhattisgarh State AI Mission to develop 100 AI data labs, five Centres of Excellence and more than 50 AI-based services.
Chhattisgarh has attracted investments of Rs 8.23 lakh crore with the potential to create approximately 1.74 lakh employment opportunities.
Schools closed during the Maoist days in Bastar have reopened, and 36 new schools are proposed to be established.
Under the Niyad Nellanar 2.0 scheme, 31 government schemes and 14 community facilities have achieved 100 percent saturation in Bastar.
