Two Devotees Killed, One Injured in Barabanki Road Crash

Some people were riding a motorcycle at night to reach a temple, where they wanted to offer water as part of a special holy month.

On the way, a big farm vehicle called a tractor-trolley crashed into their motorcycle.

Two of the three riders were hurt very badly and later died at the hospital.

The third rider is still in the hospital getting treatment.

The accident happened near a village called Dadanpur, in the Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh.

The riders were on their way to the Lodheswar Mahadeva temple to offer water on the second Monday of the month of Shravan.

The family of one of the victims said the ambulance took about one-and-a-half hours to arrive, and they were very upset about it.

Upset relatives made a commotion at the hospital, and officials came to calm them down.

A police officer arranged a government vehicle so the injured person could get to the district hospital.

The police have sent the bodies for postmortem examination, and an investigation into the crash is continuing.
