Girl students faint at Tiranga events in Barabanki and Singrauli
Some schoolgirls in India felt very sick one morning while they were standing outside in the sun.
They were getting ready for a special flag event called 'Har Ghar Tiranga'.
The girls stood for almost an hour and the heat made them dizzy, so some of them fainted.
Their teachers quickly took them to a health centre where doctors checked them.
The doctors said they were okay and let them go home.
The principal said the incident was not serious.
An official visited the school and found that some fans were slow and a water cooler was not working, so she asked for them to be fixed.
In another town, twelve students also got sick during a long flag walk in the hot sun.
They said they did not get enough water or snacks.
Drinking water and taking breaks in the shade can help people stay safe in hot weather.
Around two dozen girl students fainted during a morning assembly at Government Girls' Inter College in Harakh village, Barabanki, after standing for nearly an hour for 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign preparations.
Officials suspect heat was the primary cause, with Dr Nitish Kumar Singh citing standing in the sun, inadequate water intake and empty stomachs as contributing factors.
All affected students were treated and discharged from Satrikh community health centre, and Principal Sangeeta Chaudhary said the incident was not serious.
Joint Magistrate Gunjita Agrawal inspected the school, where slow-running fans were ordered repaired and a non-functional water cooler was found on the second-floor gallery.
Separately, 12 students fell ill during a Tiranga Yatra in Singrauli district, Madhya Pradesh, where more than 200 students from eight schools took part and one student received oxygen for a pre-existing condition.
