Tractor Hits Kanwariyas in UP: 2 Killed, 1 Injured
Some people were walking on a road in India as part of a religious journey called the Kanwar Yatra.
They were carrying special pots called Kanwars.
A tractor that was driving behind them hit them, the police said.
Two walkers were hurt very badly and died right away.
One was Nitish Kumar, who was only 14 years old.
The other was Pradeep Kumar, who was 23 years old.
A third walker, Rahul Gangwar, got hurt and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The police are now looking into what happened and sent the bodies to doctors for examination.
A tractor allegedly rammed into a group of Kanwariya pilgrims near Jamour, killing two and injuring one, police said on Wednesday.
Nitish Kumar (14) and Pradeep Kumar (23) died on the spot in the accident.
Rahul Gangwar (23) was injured and admitted to the Government Medical College for treatment.
The pilgrims were walking from Panchal Ghat in Farrukhabad carrying Kanwars toward Gola Gokarnath when the tractor travelling behind them allegedly hit them.
Police took the bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem examination.
