Andhra Pradesh Launches Pilot Programme Empowering Adolescent Boys

The Andhra Pradesh government has started a programme for boys in tribal residential schools.

It teaches them how to make responsible choices and build useful life skills.

The programme also encourages equality between boys and girls.

It teaches boys to respect women.

Another goal is to help stop child marriages.

The programme is running in 81 schools in Alluri Sitarama Raju district.

In total, 121 teachers are being trained to lead the lessons.

UNICEF and several government and charitable organizations are helping with the project.
