Kotalagaruvu Students Set to Move Into Permanent School Building
Students at Kotalagaruvu MPPS have not had a proper school building for several years.
Their teacher, Kottagulli Ganesh Kumar, travels nearly 40 kilometres to teach them.
The children sometimes studied in villagers’ verandahs or in a small classroom made from mud and tin sheets.
Strong winds and rain often made these temporary classrooms difficult to use.
The school has about 28 students, including 18 girls.
The students also did not have separate toilets.
Neurosurgeon Jammu Kodandaram visited the school and decided to help.
He is paying for a concrete building, toilets, furniture and learning materials.
The new school is expected to be ready in one or two months.
