Mysuru Zoo Receives Full Animal Feeding Support for 17th Year
A religious Mutt gave Mysuru Zoo Rs 1 lakh.
The money will pay for food for all the animals at the zoo.
The gift was given on 25 August.
It was connected to celebrations for the 111th birthday anniversary of a former spiritual leader.
This is the 17th year in a row that the Mutt has helped feed the animals.
Zoo officials thanked the Mutt's leader for the continued support.
They said the support may encourage other groups and animal lovers to help conservation work.
The announcement was made by the zoo's executive director.
Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens received a Rs 1 lakh donation on 25 August.
The donation came from Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Shivaratri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji through Sri Mutt.
Officials said the amount covers complete feeding expenses for every animal at the zoo.
The contribution coincided with the 111th birth anniversary celebrations of Jagadguru Sri Dr. Shivarathri Rajendra Maha Swamiji.
This is the 17th consecutive year of feeding support from the Mutt, according to zoo authorities.
