Serving Devotees Remains TTD's Primary Mission, Says B.R. Naidu
Every year, India celebrates the day it became an independent country.
This year was the 80th Independence Day.
B.R. Naidu is the chairman of TTD, an organisation that takes care of the famous temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala.
He said that helping the pilgrims who visit this temple is the organisation's most important job.
He also said TTD will keep protecting Sanatana Dharma, which is a set of Hindu religious traditions.
The temple plans to build a big new kitchen to make free food for visitors.
There are also plans for a museum with fun 3D and 7D shows about the temple.
More temples are being built in other cities, like Amaravati.
TTD will also add more electric buses so the air stays clean.
Many hardworking staff members were honoured with silver medals and awards for their good work.
TTD chairman B.R. Naidu said serving devotees from across the world is the organisation's primary mission, while protecting Sanatana Dharma remains its foremost commitment.
Naidu hoisted the national flag and received a guard of honour at the TTD Parade Grounds in Tirupati during the 80th Independence Day celebrations on Saturday.
A modern Annaprasadam kitchen is planned at Rs.120 crore with donor support, and the SV Museum at Tirumala, developed at Rs.145 crore, will feature 3D and 7D presentations.
The Amaravati temple is being developed at Rs.140 crore, and TTD warned it will take strict legal action against false propaganda that hurts devotees' sentiments.
Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary said 37 additional electric buses and an upgraded Integrated Command and Control Centre will improve pilgrim services and crowd forecasting in Tirumala.
