NTR district targets development, better public service
India has a very special day called Independence Day, when it remembers becoming a free country.
In NTR district, the leaders held a celebration with flags and speeches.
An important leader named Dr G Lakshmisha raised the Indian flag for everyone to see.
He also placed flowers in front of a picture of Mahatma Gandhi, a famous leader who helped India become free.
Dr Lakshmisha reminded everyone that freedom gives people rights but also responsibilities.
He asked all workers and citizens to do their part to help the district become better.
He said the district is already doing well in schools, hospitals, farming, roads, jobs, and many other areas.
People in Vijayawada were happy because their city won a prize for being a very clean city.
Dr Lakshmisha told everyone to keep working together so Vijayawada stays clean and keeps improving.
NTR District Collector Dr G Lakshmisha urged officials, employees and citizens to work collectively to make NTR district a leader in development, welfare and public service.
He spoke at the 80th Independence Day celebrations held at the NTR District Collectorate and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) headquarters on Saturday.
Dr Lakshmisha hoisted the National Flag and paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, stressing that independence brings both rights and responsibilities.
He called for coordination among government departments in line with the Viksit Bharat-2047 and Swarna Andhra-2047 visions.
He highlighted Vijayawada's recognition as a Super Swachh League City and urged officials and citizens to retain the distinction and improve sanitation standards.
