Seven-Year-Old Dies as Floods Submerge Bridges in MP's Dindori

Somewhere in India, in a place called Dindori in the state of Madhya Pradesh, it rained very, very hard.

So much rain fell in just one night that the ground became soft and wet.

A house made of mud fell down, and a seven-year-old boy lost his life.

The rain also made the rivers nearby grow very big and fast.

Three rivers - the Narmada, Kharmer and Chakrar - overflowed their banks.

Water covered two bridges over the Narmada River, so cars and buses could not cross.

The police put up barriers and stopped traffic on the road between Dindori and Jabalpur.

Some houses near the river had water up to four feet inside them.

Helpers came to move people living near the river to safer places.

This is a sad reminder that very heavy rain can be dangerous.
