A 22-year-old student named Hiros Jyoti Das from Assam was hurt by five other students at his university hostel in Madhya Pradesh.

This happened on Tuesday afternoon.

The five students were kicked out of the university and the police have filed a report against them.

The police say the five students asked Hiros where he was from and what he was doing at the university, then they hurt him.

One of them even said he would die there.

The university took quick action and expelled the students involved.

This is similar to another recent incident where a student from the Northeast was hurt in Uttarakhand, which made many people upset and called for better laws to stop such hate crimes.

The Congress and the ABVP have criticized the university administration, with the Congress alleging that the university has been turned into a hub of the BJP and the RSS, and the ABVP alleging that the university has become a haven for anti-social elements.
