Heavy Rain in Madhya Pradesh: Five Dead, Three Missing

Very heavy rain fell in a part of India called Madhya Pradesh.

The rain filled up roads and rivers with water.

In one town, a van with 11 people inside was pulled into a big drain by the fast-moving water.

Sadly, five people could not be saved, and three more people are still missing.

The van's driver had driven onto a bridge that was still being built, but the water hid it from view.

In the city of Bhopal, about seven inches of rain fell, so streets were flooded and schools closed.

Rescuers, including the National Disaster Response Force, helped people who were stuck near a riverside temple.

Water got into homes and shops in several other towns.

Farmers were happy because the rain is good for their growing crops.

Helpers kept working to rescue people and keep everyone safe.
