SEMICON India 2026 Showcases India’s Expanding Semiconductor Ambitions

India is trying to build more of the computer chips used in electronics, medical devices and vehicles.

The government says three semiconductor plants are already making products and exporting them.

More plants may begin operating before the end of 2026.

SEMICON India 2026 will bring chip companies, investors, scientists and government officials together in New Delhi.

The event will show how chips can be developed from design through manufacturing and final systems.

A new government program will support factories, advanced packaging, equipment, research and training.

India also wants to train more people for factory and engineering jobs.

Officials believe India’s chip market could grow to about $200 billion.
