PM Modi announces 5-8 more semiconductor plants in 7-8 years

Have you ever seen a tiny computer chip inside a toy, phone, or car?

Those little chips are called semiconductors, and they help almost every modern technology work.

For a long time, India talked about making these chips but did not have big factories to do it.

Now, India has started making chips in three factories.

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, told everyone this exciting news on Independence Day.

He spoke from a famous old fort called the Red Fort.

He also said that five to eight new chip factories will be built in the next seven to eight years.

India is already sending some chips to other countries.

Making its own chips helps India become stronger and more self-reliant.
