Governor Gehlot Recalls Freedom Fighters' Sacrifices on Independence Day
On Independence Day, the Governor of Karnataka, Thaawarchand Gehlot, raised the Indian flag at a government building called Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru.
He also placed flowers to honour two great Indian leaders, Mahatma Gandhi and B.R. Ambedkar.
The Governor talked to a big crowd of people gathered there.
He said Independence Day is a special day to remember brave freedom fighters who gave so much for India.
He thanked all the heroes who made great sacrifices for the country.
He said Karnataka is a wonderful state known for its culture, knowledge and new ideas.
The Governor also said India is the world's largest democratic nation.
He explained that India has done amazing things in science, technology and space.
He ended by saying Bengaluru is a symbol of India's technology and innovation.
Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot hoisted the tricolour and paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and B.R. Ambedkar at Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru.
Addressing a gathering, he said Independence Day is meant to remember the sacrifices, courage and contribution of freedom fighters.
Gehlot said Karnataka is renowned for its rich culture, knowledge traditions, innovation and spirit of unity in diversity.
He stated that India is progressing as the world's largest democratic nation, with milestones in economy, science and technology, space, Digital India, start-ups and innovation.
The Governor said Bengaluru has emerged as a symbol of India's technological and innovation capabilities.
