Manipur Governor, CM call for unity on Independence Day

Saturday was Independence Day in India.

On this day, people remember the freedom fighters who helped India become a free country.

The Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, and the Chief Minister, Y Khemchand Singh, wished everyone a happy Independence Day.

They asked people to stay united as a nation and to follow the Constitution.

The Governor raised the national flag at Lok Bhavan in Imphal.

The Chief Minister raised the flag at the First Manipur Rifles Ground.

The Chief Minister also talked about building a stronger and richer India by the year 2047.

The leader of the BJP in the state, A Sharda Devi, raised the Tricolour at the party office, and everyone sang the National Anthem.

Flags were raised in schools and offices across all 16 districts of Manipur.
