LG Sinha hoists national flag on 80th Independence Day
India recently celebrated its 80th Independence Day, the day the country became free many years ago.
A leader named Manoj Sinha, who is the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, raised the national flag at a government building called Lok Bhavan.
Police officers from Jammu and Kashmir gave a special salute to the flag.
He remembered the brave men and women who fought and gave their lives for India's freedom.
He also remembered people who lost their lives in natural disasters this year.
He said everyone should work with honesty and protect the freedom the country earned.
He asked everyone to help women and young people, create more jobs, and take care of the environment.

A ceremonial contingent of the Jammu and Kashmir Police presented the National Salute during the ceremony.
Sinha paid tributes to freedom fighters who made the supreme sacrifice and to civilians who lost their lives in natural calamities during the year.
He stressed working with integrity, upholding democratic values, and safeguarding the country's hard-earned freedom, while calling for balanced growth and women's economic empowerment.
Sinha highlighted initiatives to revitalise heritage sites, restore ancient monuments, and undertake afforestation, urging citizens to realise the vision of a self-reliant Jammu Kashmir and Viksit Bharat by 2047.
