Gujarat Governor urges national interest supreme on Independence Day
India celebrated its 80th Independence Day on August 15.
In Gujarat, the Governor, Acharya Devvrat, raised the national flag at a place called Lok Bhavan in Gandhinagar.
He told people that they should always put their country first.
He asked everyone to do their duties honestly and work hard.
The Governor also said people should help India become a developed country by the year 2047.
He remembered the brave freedom fighters who gave everything for India.
He also planted trees to show that we should take care of nature.
In another part of Gujarat, called Amreli, the Chief Minister, Bhupendra Patel, raised the flag too.
There were parades, police shows with horses and dogs, and cultural performances.
Everyone was wished a happy Independence Day.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel hoisted the flag at state-level celebrations in Amreli, which featured a parade, police demonstrations and cultural performances.
