East Central Railway Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Grandeur
India celebrates a big holiday called Independence Day every August 15.
On this day, India remembers becoming a free country many years ago.
East Central Railway, a company that runs trains in India, held a big celebration at its office in Hajipur.
The General Manager, Chhatrasal Singh, raised the Indian flag and watched a parade by railway police and Scouts and Guides.
He told everyone about the good work the railway did this year.
The railway carried lots of goods and earned a lot of money.
It also added new trains to help passengers travel and built new safety systems.
Teams showed off their skills, and artists performed dances about India's freedom fighters.
Everyone released balloons into the sky to show love for their country.
East Central Railway celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour at its headquarters in Hajipur on August 15, 2026.
General Manager Chhatrasal Singh hoisted the national flag, inspected the parade and announced the zone's achievements for January-July.
The zone loaded 126 million tonnes of freight and generated more than Rs 19,000 crore in total originating revenue between January and July.
East Central Railway crossed the 200-million-tonne freight loading mark for the second consecutive year.
Infrastructure work included 26 km of track doubling, electrification of 55 track kilometres and installation of Kavach over 256 route kilometres.
