The Railway Board approved a large project to add two railway tracks between Nagda and Mathura.

The route is 567.86 kilometres long.

It passes through Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

The extra tracks could let four trains run at the same time.

They are also meant to help more passenger and freight trains operate.

Train speeds could increase to 160 kilometres per hour from 130.

The project will add modern signalling and the Kavach safety system.

Two new stations are proposed, and Nagda will get a satellite station.
