CM Revanth Reddy launches PDS ration card distribution Aug 15
In a place called Telangana, the government helps families buy food at lower prices using special cards called ration cards.
Many families already have these cards, but they are made of paper and can get damaged.
The government is now giving families new, shiny plastic cards that last much longer.
This will happen on August 15, a special day in India.
The big leader of the state, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, will start the giveaway in a town called Sangareddy.
At the same time, the same thing will happen in all 119 areas across the state.
The government is not giving cards to new people—it is just making better cards for families who already have them.
Officials say that if new families need cards, they can still get them later.
The Telangana government will launch distribution of fresh laminated PDS ration cards to 1.05 crore existing beneficiaries from August 15.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will launch the State-level distribution in Sangareddy.
The distribution will be held simultaneously across all 119 Assembly constituencies.
Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy issued orders directing RDOs and district administrations to coordinate printing, transportation and arrangements at distribution centres.
Officials clarified the exercise does not involve issuing new ration cards; the laminated cards are for existing beneficiaries, including newly approved eligible families, while new card issuance remains a continuous process.
