Telangana to Present Unified Water Security Model at National Summit
Telangana plans to present its water-management system at a national meeting.
The meeting will be held in New Delhi on September 1 and 2, 2026.
The Union Ministry of Jal Shakti is organising it.
Government representatives will discuss how to improve water security and drinking-water services.
They will talk about building water projects on time and collecting rainwater.
They will also discuss protecting drinking-water sources and maintaining rural water systems.
Telangana wants every water project to have a location, funding source, responsible agency, and clear result.
It also wants projects such as check dams and farm ponds to be chosen according to local land, rainfall, soil, and water needs.
Telangana will showcase its unified water security model at the Departmental Summit in New Delhi.

Discussions will cover water infrastructure, Catch the Rain, drinking-water source sustainability, and rural supply maintenance.
Telangana will propose one water security plan, geotagged asset register, lead agency, financing mechanism, and measurable outcome.
The state says water assets should be selected scientifically and assigned unique identities, funding sources, agencies, and measurable benefits.
