RCF to roll out first LHB rake for Bangladesh Railway
A train factory in India called the Rail Coach Factory is making new train cars for Bangladesh.
The factory is in a city called Kapurthala.
It will send the first group of 19 train coaches on August 12.
These coaches were specially made for how Bangladesh runs its trains.
They have comfy reclining chairs, cameras for safety, and buttons passengers can press for help.
There are also rooms for babies and for prayer.
The roofs are extra strong because sometimes many people ride on top of the trains.
The coaches are built to be very safe in a crash, following a strict European safety rule.
The factory sent 120 coaches to Bangladesh before, in 2015-16.
Bangladesh has ordered 200 coaches in total.
Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala, will roll out its first rake of 19 LHB broad-gauge passenger coaches for Bangladesh Railway on August 12.
The rake includes three AC sleeper cars, three AC chair cars, 11 non-AC chair cars, and two power cars customised for Bangladesh Railway's needs.
Coaches feature reclining chairs, CCTV surveillance, passenger alarm systems, partially openable windows, baby care and prayer rooms.
The coaches have a crashworthy design conforming to European Standard EN 15227 and a modified 415-volt electrical system.
Bangladesh Railway placed an order for 200 coaches in seven variants through RITES in 2024; RCF earlier supplied 120 LHB coaches in 2015-16.
