50 Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains Coming Soon: What Passengers Need To Know · NDTV

Trains in India are getting a big upgrade.

The Integral Coach Factory in Chennai will build 50 new Vande Bharat sleeper trains.

These trains have beds, so people can sleep during long overnight journeys.

Each new train will have 24 coaches instead of 16, so it can carry about one and a half times more passengers.

The factory has already finished the drawings for how the trains will be built.

Right now, the Vande Bharat sleeper train runs between Howrah and Kamakhya.

The new trains may let the railway run sleeper services on many more long-distance routes.

The exact seating plan is not confirmed yet, but reports suggest it will include AC 3-tier, AC 2-tier and AC First Class coaches.

The railway is also planning the next Amrit Bharat Express, which may add AC coaches for more comfort.
