Jammu and Kashmir Plans 110 Rural Roads Across Five Districts
The government plans to build 110 new roads in rural parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
These roads will stretch across nearly 598.5 kilometres.
They will be built in Udhampur, Doda, Ramban, Kathua and Kishtwar.
The projects will cost about Rs 1,503.53 crore.
Officials expect nearly 47,000 people to benefit.
Better roads can make it easier to reach schools, hospitals, markets and workplaces.
They may be especially helpful for children, older people and women in remote villages.
Some roads will use waste plastic during construction.
Officials also said better roads could help security forces travel more quickly.
A total of 110 rural road projects will cover 598.455 km across five Jammu and Kashmir districts.
The projects have a sanctioned cost of Rs 1,503.53 crore and are expected to benefit 46,972 people.
Udhampur will receive the largest share, with 44 roads spanning 235.040 km at Rs 554.90 crore.
The roads are intended to improve access to schools, markets, healthcare, workplaces and other essential services.
Officials said several projects will use waste plastic, while improved connectivity could also support security-force movement.
