₹1,122 Crore Karnataka Rail Project Adds Two Secunderabad-Wadi Tracks
Railways plan to build two more tracks between Sulehali West and Kurugunta in Karnataka.
This will give trains more space to travel on the Secunderabad-Wadi route.
The project will also include electric railway equipment, signalling and communication systems.
The specific work is expected to cost ₹1,122.78 crore.
It is part of a larger ₹5,012 crore project covering about 173 kilometres.
The larger project was approved by the Union Cabinet and is planned to take five years.
The current route is already being used at more than 114% of its capacity.
More tracks could help passenger trains and goods trains move more smoothly.
South Central Railway invited bids worth ₹1,122.78 crore for quadrupling the Sulehali West-Kurugunta section in Karnataka.
The work will add third and fourth railway lines, along with electrification, signalling and telecommunications systems.
