PMGSY Road Projects Expand Connectivity Across Remote Hilly Villages
The government is building many new roads in remote hilly villages.
These roads are part of a program called PMGSY.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh started 110 new road projects.
Together, the roads will stretch for about 598 kilometres.
The projects will cost about Rs 1,503 crore.
They are expected to help nearly 47,000 people.
Better roads can make it easier to travel to schools, hospitals, markets and jobs.
The minister said women and families in far-away villages will especially benefit.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh laid the foundation stone for 110 PMGSY-IV road projects.
The projects cover 598.455 kilometres at a sanctioned cost of Rs 1,503.53 crore.
The roads span Kathua, Udhampur, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar districts.
Authorities expect the projects to benefit 46,972 people in remote hilly areas.
Jitendra Singh said improved roads would help residents, especially women, reach schools, healthcare, markets and workplaces.
