Mumbai Central Division Expands Swachhata Hi Seva Cleanliness Campaign
Mumbai Central Division held a large cleaning campaign from 21 to 24 September 2026.
Railway workers, passengers, civic groups and volunteers took part.
They cleaned stations, train-care areas, hospitals and railway neighborhoods.
More than 10 tonnes of different kinds of waste were collected.
Workers also cleaned trains and removed a waste pile in Surat.
People learned about sorting rubbish and making compost at home.
A door-to-door campaign visited 158 homes.
Sanitation workers received health check-ups.
The campaign encouraged everyone to keep railway areas clean and reduce plastic use.
Mumbai Central Division conducted four days of cleanliness activities from 21 to 24 September 2026.
The campaign collected more than 10 tonnes of segregated waste, including wet, dry, special-care and sanitary waste.
About 200 kilograms of waste was removed from a Cleanliness Target Unit at Coach Care Centre, Surat.
Community initiatives included a door-to-door drive covering 158 households and waste-management sessions for 140 participants.
Health check-ups were held for sanitation workers, while officials and participants took a Swachhata Pledge.
