Mumbai Central Division Expands Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 Campaign
Mumbai Central Division held a large cleanliness campaign from September 17 to 20, 2026.
Railway workers, students, passengers, volunteers, and civic groups joined the activities.
More than 4,100 people promised to help keep places clean.
Teams collected over 5.2 tonnes of separated waste.
They also cleaned 23 especially littered places and removed more than one tonne of waste.
Students at 30 schools learned how to sort rubbish and save water.
Some activities included rallies, plays, competitions, and visits to a coach-washing plant.
Health camps and protective equipment were provided to sanitation workers.
The campaign aims to encourage everyone to help create a cleaner environment.
Western Railway’s Mumbai Central Division conducted cleanliness and awareness activities from September 17 to 20, 2026.
More than 4,100 participants took the Swachhata Pledge, while over 5.2 tonnes of segregated waste were collected.
Of 83 identified garbage-vulnerable points, 23 sites were cleared across nearly 1,387 square metres, removing 1.19 metric tonnes of waste.
Awareness programmes reached 30 schools and educational institutes, with more than 540 participants joining Swachhata Gyan Yatra activities.
Health camps, sanitation-worker support, rallies, cultural programmes, tree planting, and joint clean-up drives were held with civic bodies and voluntary groups.
