NFR Begins Swachhata Hi Sewa 2026 Cleanliness Awareness Campaign
Northeast Frontier Railway has started a campaign to make railway areas cleaner.
The campaign began on 17 September 2026.
Railway officials and workers promised to help keep stations and other places hygienic.
Cleaning and awareness activities will happen at stations, trains, offices and railway colonies.
Workers will also learn about cleanliness and waste separation.
Passengers and local people are being asked to help.
The campaign will continue until 2 October, known as Swachh Bharat Diwas.
Its main message is that keeping railway premises clean is everyone’s responsibility.
Northeast Frontier Railway began Swachhata Hi Sewa 2026 on 17 September with a pledge ceremony at Maligaon.
General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, officials and staff reaffirmed commitments to cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation and public participation.
Activities will continue across stations, trains, railway colonies, offices and other establishments until Swachh Bharat Diwas on 2 October.
The campaign includes cleanliness drives, passenger awareness programmes, staff workshops and segregation and disposal of unserviceable materials.
NFR’s five divisions and Construction Organisation are conducting parallel drives while encouraging passengers and local communities to participate.
